Are there any legal punishments for false accusations of sexual abuse?

If so what are theyAre there any legal punishments for false accusations of sexual abuse?
File false police report or court document charge. Depends on who made report- many states shield medical and educational people from charges from simple negligence- need to prove actual malice toward individual. Divorce cases known to have false accusations in custody battles- criminal charges refuted as false filing have in a few cases resulted in felony charge for false swearing/perjury against false accuser. Again have to prove innocence of first charge. Are there any legal punishments for false accusations of sexual abuse?
yes, the accuser can be charged with filing a false police report, but it hardly ever happens
yes. this is what is called a tort offense.

Simply put your image has been damaged due to the negligence or willfulness of another individual. They have brought you to term unfairly. Anytime one bears false witness and you can prove a difference in how your peers approach you or think of you then you are entitled to damages to punish the offense and prevent others from making false accusations.

now pay attention. if there was reason to believe that you have done this, or if there was just a mistake by the accuser and not intended or lacking of consideration of the situation, then no.

I will try this one more way as law can be quite complex and yet simple. If you touched me. And I took you to court, that is not punishable as a tort offense.

If i ran your name through the mud and made everyone you know listen to my story of you touching me. You are not going to get a tort judgement.

If i can be proven to have INTENTIONTIONALLY known that you never touched me, but just wanted to get back at you, then and only then can you get me. So it would have had to be viewed as totally unfounded and/or the intent proven that the accuser knew it was not true, for you to win.
