Why do you think false accusations are on the rise and what can be done about it ?

Law enforcement throughout the U.S. are reporting false allegations and false police reports/complaints are on the rise. It is burdensome for L.E. as well as the falsely accused, and also

to those who have legitimate claims of being harmed. Making

false allegations to L.E. is criminal behavior and creates victims who have done nothing wrong. If you know someone or you have been falsely accused, what are your thoughts ?Why do you think false accusations are on the rise and what can be done about it ?
I think it's the climate we live in, the social climate of division and deciet we've been living in since George Bush took offce. It's trickled down into other nooks and crannys of our social order, down to the ';common people'; of the country, like you and me.

It's a question of PERCEPTION. Nowadays, since Bush/Cheney have turned it into an art form, you merely havce to accuse someone of something and people think they ARE that thing, or theyce DONE that thing. The way terrorism is handled legally, for example, has stripped the normal civil rights we enjoyed before Bush down to a bare skeleton of what they once were. This is also what happened in Nazi Germany. We're not so far off in this country either.

Propaganda is a type of message aimed at influencing the opinions or behavior of people. Instead of impartially providing information, propaganda is often deliberately misleading, using logical fallacies, which, while sometimes convincing, are not necessarily valid. Propaganda techniques include: patriotic flag-waving, glittering generalities, intentional vagueness, oversimplification of complex issues, rationalization, introducing unrelated red herring issues, using appealing, simple slogans, stereotyping, testimonials from authority figures or celebrities, unstated assumptions, and encouraging readers or viewers to ';jump on the bandwagon'; of a particular point of view.

Disinformation is the deliberate dissemination of false information. It may include the distribution of forged documents, manuscripts, and photographs, or propagation of malicious rumours and fabricated intelligence. In the context of espionage or military intelligence, it is the spreading of deliberately false information to mislead an enemy as to one's position or course of action. It also includes the distortion of true information in such a way as to render it useless.

In psychology and the cognitive sciences, perception is the process of acquiring, interpreting, selecting, and organizing sensory information. The word perception comes from the Latin capere, meaning ';to take,'; the prefix per meaning ';completely.'; Methods of studying perception range from essentially biological or physiological approaches, through psychological approaches through the philosophy of mind and in empiricist epistemology, such as that of David Hume, John Locke, George Berkeley, or as in Merleau Ponty's affirmation of perception as the basis of all science and knowledge. Why do you think false accusations are on the rise and what can be done about it ?
As a LEO, i have had false reports made to me by many people who in the end just don't care. The worst thing is that the state Attn here on the most part refuses to prosecute the ones that make the false report. This leaves us (Leo's) looking like we have egg on our face. Welcome to Miami.
