What Are The False Accusations Laws In Canada?

I was just wondering what, if any, laws there are in Canada about someone falsly accusing someone for doing things that aren't true. I am being falsly accused of doing something to someone and I'm getting tired of it.

If there are any laws, do they hold for anything, and if they're made in person/writing/on the internet, do they have any grounds for action? Thanks in advance for any and all answers and info. What Are The False Accusations Laws In Canada?
If it's verbal then it's slander, if it's in print it's libel.

The law governing slander and libel is a provincial responsibility.

You must prove this person is making the allegations and that it's hurting your reputation in your community.

You must summon witnesses to the trial to testify these comments were made or produce documents stating these false claims.

Is it hurting you so much that you can't maintain a job or run your business ?

Are you losing money from school because your reputation is so tarnished that you can't attend ?

Also are you willing to spend the time and money on a trial if there is one ?

If you win, can she pay the monies owed to you ?

If you lose, can you pay the court costs ?

If you live in Ontario it's the: Ontario Slander and Libel Act.

Or check Ontario E-laws.

If she's posing as you, it's a criminal offence and can be prosecuted under the ';Personation'; section of the Criminal Code of Canada. What Are The False Accusations Laws In Canada?
It _sounds_ like what you're talking about is a civil matter - so no police will get involved. If you're being falsely accused can be shown to having a measureable and negative impact on your work, income or public reputation, then a civil magistrate can preside over the case and award damages.

But first, you need a lawyer.
