Why do people make false accusations in cases of domestic violence?

Despite the best of intentions efforts to curb domestic violence are not working. Current solutions not only fail to reduce domestic violence but also create other problems.

Families are undermined, children are harmed, and innocent men are penalized because of false accusations.

http://www.mediaradar.org/index.phpWhy do people make false accusations in cases of domestic violence?
My ex-wife did this.

It was the main cause of our split, apart from he adultery.

She also was very violent towards me, though I had just enough pride left not to resond or hit her myself.

She still feels compelled to tell others that she was a battered women because it gets her sympathy and takes the responsibility away from her for what she did.

I never touched her. Did not want to.

Current methods for controlling domestic violence as something only men do: this can be used as a weapon do implicate men with no cause.

In my mind, any woman who does this is worse that the lowest scum and deserves full on jail time when the allegations are proven false, and she must fully surrender child custody in perpetuity.

Men who are convicted based on false evidence must be compensated by the PC state and courts who were programmed to believe a lie. Men who are charged and they are later dropped must be considered totally vindicated.

Children must be protected from these women at all costs. Manipulating the system is totally despicable.

Oh, and for the close: I ended up humiliating and bankrupting my ex in court as a result of her claim because I kept meticulous and verifiable records.. I then sent a PI firm after her to gather evidence and the tax department and social services then prosecuted her successfully on a number of charges and she is doing time and has lost all her assests and is on a sex-offenders register. My allegations WERE true. You might think it was none of my business to delve into her private life after we split, but her accusations certainly ruined much of my life, and I still have to justify myself every day. To me, it was not revenge, it was justice.Why do people make false accusations in cases of domestic violence?
It makes me very angry when this happens. My step father had a girlfriend who felt the need to do this because she had found a new boyfriend and was just being spiteful. I went to court and defended my step father and all charges were dropped. Her own son could not admit that anything had happened. Sometimes people need to admit their own guilt and own up to responsibilities. Your right, no one wins in these cases.
Why do people make false accusations in cases of murder or attempted murder? Both men and women do this every day towards other men and women. Interesting how this is of no interest to the anti-feminist crowd, when I would think being accused of murder would have much more serious consequences than being accused of battering. Often poor people are the ones who suffer the most from murder accusations-why aren't you working on reforming the investigation and prosecution of murder?
I think it's because it's done in the heat of the moment. Anger builds and it comes out the wrong way.
They're trying to get the other person in trouble. If it's a woman who makes the claim, the police pretty much have to treat it seriously until it's proven false, otherwise they look sexist. If it's a man and they take it seriously before there's evidence to prove it, they look sexist. It's amazing. That's why women make false accusations, they know it will make the man look bad even if they can't be proven.
There will always be people who abuse the system that's in place to benefit society- whether it be our laws, the welfare system, or some other form of protection or benefit. And unfortunately, these people cause harm to society as a whole. Their actions reflect badly on the rest of us. They keep people who really need these forms of protection or support from actually getting it. So what do we do about it? Good question. I think stiffer penalties for such actions are definitely needed.
Women usually blame any problems on something other than themselves.

';McDonalds made me fat';

';I don't make enough money because of men';

';I wasn't driving too fast, everyone else was going too slow';

Ect...

Of course she's going to try to pin it on the guy. Why wouldn't she? She's already off the rocker enough to start a fight, clearly she doesn't have enough sense or honor to admit to it.

Or in the case of them claiming that violence took place when it really didn't... well she's just being a childish bltch. He probably didn't pay enough attention to her so she's telling on him. Does she care if it's a lie? no. She gets her way and that's all that matters.
False accusations are shameful and ruin lives.
the problem is that they can get away with it.

There is virtually no penalty if any at all for false accusations, so people will continue to do it.

The problem is we are all scared of domestic violence, and i think domestic violence is terrible, but since its a big issue people have overdone it on the laws and now your basically convicted when accused when it comes to domestic violence.
The false accusations stem from a need for attention or revenge. There is really no simpler answer than that.

We can only leave it to the courts to decide a case based on evidence. Thank goodness for that.
I believe it is due to a lack of morality, honor, honesty and respect.
People make false accusation for a perceived personal gain.

It's is now fashionable that If you want to get out of a relationship, Just accuse the other of domestic violence.

If you make the accusation first and the police lay charges which they are compelled to do.

This will guarantee you;

Will stay in the house.

Have the kids.

Be guaranteed a income (Gov Benefit + child support).

A delaying tactic, to give you time to get your head together.

Cause pain to the other party.

Lest We Cry Wolf Too Much.

My heart does bleed for all those, of any gender; that have come foul of the system. The system is suppose to protect the vulnerable.
Honestly men need to file for charges!!!!!!! Men are also victims yes, you pissed her off but does it make it okay for her to hit you with a frying pan? NO!

I think I figured it out: With women shame is done on the basis of sexuality men their pride.
